When it comes to major events such as this, i have a problem of not getting enough sleep. Oh well i reckon that is caused by the excitment of running such a long distance.
Took a bus down to macritchie reservoir for the collection of T-shirt and certificate of appreciation. The guys from SGrunners were early. First on the scene was jeremy. Later the rest came down like sotong (can miss this basketballer dude haha), le charlotte, divey, brokie, cookie, broken runner, acleong, bee, LKY etc. Beside from SGrunners.. Some others from SAFRA running club also join in the run. Great to have such a massive gathering to talk and exchange tips on running.
This will be my first important run of the year. Why important coz we were treated like VIP with police and ambulance escort all the way. No traffic light can stop us. HAHAA we are unstoppable! Just like the spirit of world peace and harmony!
Flag off was at about 7.40am (delayed due to latecomers hehe) . The run was lead by a UN peacekeeper. Holding a flaming torch, really reminds me of olympic games. Support vehicle would be cheering us on (ambushing us every 2km) haha.

Route information:
Along the route you will hear drivers honking at you, some waving , others even join in the run.
Some of these stops , i have never imagine myself steping into. Was really an eye opener into other religion and helps to bridge the gap between our different races. Some gory stuff encountered along the route thou, i saw firstly a dead rat... then a dead cat.. then a dead bird.. eeks..
At the east coast leg the SV, IMD and DO who just completed the singapore biathlon, joined in at that pt. Bala , Renoh and gang cheered us on. Saw some VJC students at the canoe center. Stop and had some photos taken there. We also joke at how brokie was used to be a teacher there.. (my bad). We proceeded on to marina esplanade and thats where my right leg starts to cramp and toe starts to have some sort of abrasion. Tips from brokie is to tighten the shoelace so that it the foot won't shift forward hitting the tip of the shoe.
And at last we reached the merlion.. i have survive the longest run so far of my life :P.. a great achievement so far .. for me at least.
