Your Nikes can now talk to your iPod.
yup its true , this is taken from CNET.
"Apple Computer CEO Steve Jobs and Nike CEO Mark Parker on Tuesday unveiled new products that connect the Nike+ Air Zoom Moire, a new running shoe outfitted with a sensor and receiver, with an iPod Nano to report running data in real time and track joggers' progress.
Nike+iPod Sport Kit, which will be available through the Apple Store in about three months, is expected to cost $29.
"Information on time, distance, calories burned and pace is stored on the iPod and displayed on the screen," according to a statement released by Apple. This information is also reported via iPod users' headphones as they run.
Runners can program a particular workout into their iPod Nano using "The Nike+ Experience" software, available July 13. While running, a woman's voice will inform runners of their progress. When the workout is done and the iPod is synced with the runner's computer, progress is charted.
The announcement took place at a New York event with Lance Armstrong, the Tour de France bicycling champion, who is training for his first New York City Marathon.
"If you can incorporate time, distance and calories burned together, and make it function for both the fitness runner and the high-level athlete, it will take working out to a whole other level," Armstrong said in a statement. " more infor

well being a technophile, it seems like everything these days a gearing towards the athletes market from handphones to ipods. Looks like i have to get the shoe + the plugin and receiver to utilise these features.. and that means i have to spend more money...or i wait for the review

run- yishun damn 8.25km
Had a run this evening after work, took a new route today, which runs parallel to some open grass patches, parks and jungle before hitting the yishun damn. Along the way i took a short break at yishun park (marked A in the map) where i was thinkin of relieving myself. Turns out its a automated pay toliet by a company called exeloo. Arghh din bring any coins. Luckily its not really urgent case. So i decided to carry onz.
Did a turn around at the dam (marked b in the map). At the end of my run i noticed that my legs are strained, i dun really get this sort of feeling. I suspect my shoe cushion is busted or harden. Time to get a new shoe at RL this thursday. Maybe a mizuno waverider 9 :)
Distance : 8.25km

Swim - 20laps
Had a swim yesterday at Safra Yishun with my friend, did 20 laps at about 1mins 09sec per lap. close to 30mins for 20 laps. Quite an improvement from previous timing. Disappointed that the pool has lack of any bikini babes haha.
Made our way to sembawang for makan and after which spotted the gatorade powder at the giant supermarket. Selling for 10bucks must grab man can mix 20 bottles of gatorade i think.

Supplement : Removing irritating logo
Okay I know most of you guys want to remove the logo off from your marathon pics. Well heres a step by step guide on how to do that.
First save the picture from the website. Launch your prefered photoediting software( fireworks, photoshop CS) or any software with both "cloning" and "smudging" Tools.
Heres a sample of my marathon pic.
Irritating banner anit it? Arghh time to send it to the washing machine!
Okay using the clone tool i slowly scrub off the wordings.. increase or decrease the brush pixel depending on the tightness of the area.
Okay now that we have that removed , there are some artifects ( mismatch color tones). So how to remove that?
Well using smudge tool i can! ... gingerly rub it over ..
And wahlah! presto! ...Banner all gone!
Run - sembawang beach - simpang kiri 10.86km
I have been slacking on my runs this week(thanks to salsa), so yesterday decided on a slightly longer route for this run. Instead of running into andrew road before i hit the sembawang park i trudge on further to the beach. I can see tons of activity there, folks fishing and barbequeing etc. My timing was pretty good completing at about 56 mins hmm .
On the way back i believe i was spot by MF who was on her way to the wedding dinner. Hard to keep my ninja run quiet these days. After the run went of for my salsa session, on the road there i spotted run3 and boi boi having a run in town.
Distance : 10.86km
Timing : 56mins 35s
Pace : 5.1 mins/km

Dropby runninglab run lastnite, have not been regular there other then on special days. Anyway that night RL is giving away a packet of hammer gel for runners. Now i have always bought power gel for all my long run, is curious about how hammer gel tasted. some comments i got was it was more diluted then power gel. Well will try it out the next time i go for my long run.
The night route was the usual marina south. tekko, imd, run3 (first time to RL run) , vrp gals, baby mon was there. This is the first time i have met baby mon. She was the talk of sgrunners, her pace was like sub 3hr for marathon that was quite scary haha. Anyway myself still not so up to par yet decided to do a short 8km run. The rest of the group went for like 10km . Did a slow 4km to marina south with the VRP gals. And on the return leg went full speed back to boatquay . Nearing the end of boatquay, babymon over took me, leaving me biting the dust. Damn she was good. haha
later the group went down to boatquay for makaning and detox tea treatment for the ladies. Before we took train back with ruth and MF. Sent MF back coz her place was around my area.
Distance : 8km
Timing : 44mins 19s
Pace : 5.52 mins/km
HRM : 149-195
